Soundgarden – Badmotorfinger [Throwback Thursday]

Posted January 7th, 2010 · Artists: Soundgarden

Well based on the recent news from Pitchfork that Soundgarden would be reuniting I thought we would take a look back at their great album Badmotorfinger, released in 1991. They reached their peak of popularity probably around the time of Superunknown but you can’t help but love the sheer rock of this earlier record. Starting off with the great ‘Rusty Cage’, it really never lets up from there, always keeping a great edge the whole way through, and delivering some classic, legendary riffs and those unmistakable vocals as well. A little less radio friendly and a little more raw than the later work, this is still a favorite of mine to go back to whenever you want some classic early-90s alternative rock, as the record is just great top to bottom and still holds up well today. Great to hear they are possibly playing some festivals etc this summer, and this will be one reunion to surely keep an eye on as it develops.
