Dallas Events – March 12-15, 2009

Posted March 12th, 2009 ·

Big weekend for Dallas because this Saturday is the date for our world famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  (Facebook Page)  And while a nation (and the the drive by media’s) hearts go out to Bristol Palin for getting dumped, I’m focusing on more important stuff like how to dress warmly Saturday in all green (forecast is mid 50s with a 10% chance of rain – bleah.)  So. Find all the other stuff going on this weekend after the jump, plus ticket purchasing links.

Thursday, March 12

Did anyone else have any idea that Denton is trying to compete with SXSW with their own festival called NX35?  Lame or awesome?  Bristol Palin decides.
Ian Moore @ Granada Theater

Friday, March 13

NX35 – Denton, TX
Many various showcases up and down Greenville; see my note at the bottom.

Saturday, March 14

St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Dallas, TX.  (Drunk DBF will be there!)
Tokyo Police Club & Ra Ra Riot @ Granada (Drunk DBF plans to attend….)
And WTF?  Another “competing” festival to SXSW?  South by So What @ Plano Centre

Sunday, March 15

M. Ward @ Dallas Museum of Art (DBF will be there.)
Adele @ Granada is SOLD OUT

As a side note, there are about a million showcase type shows going on up and down Greenville Ave. on Friday and Saturday.  Any venue with a stage seems to be having multiple acts, going pretty much constantly, so if you’re in the mood, head down and either drink your head off or catch a show or three or both.  It’s Dallas’ best weekend, so I recommend you take advantage!
