Set your DVRs fools, indie uber-darlings of the moment Fleet Foxes will be bringing their chilled out mountain man folk to SNL this weekend on an episode hosted by ‘Clerks 2′ star Rosario Dawson. Fleet Foxes have garnered quite a bit of notoriety over the last month by being named album of the year by Pitchfork and achieving top spot in the Hype Machine zeitgeist for album of the year. I think I read somewhere they were playing “White Winter Hymnal” and “Mykonos” (from the Sun Giant EP). They do have a cool live sound, but much like Bon Iver it kind of relies a bit on hushed silence in the crowd to create the right atmosphere, so it will be interesting to see how that translates to SNL. It also is probably the biggest possible departure from last week’s Taylor Swift performance. At least SNL is mixing it up.
