Wow, it has been a long damned time since I have made one of these posts due to unlimited amounts of server/host issues and the subsequent trying to get it back working and working myself and etc so anyway, it has been a while my friends. BUT hopefully this will be the first in a return to the regular feature now, but no promises – baby steps.

Anyway, the real reason I wanted to do up a post for this is I was just kind of going back through the 2008 materials before we get all knee-deep into 2009 and came across a couple of b-side songs from some of our fave bands here at DBF that I hadn’t really posted before but that I am a giant fan of.

First is Lightspeed Champion’s “Waiting Game”, which is a song I get stuck in my head on a fair number of occasions, which just has such a cool acoustic flavor to it, and never even really needs a full band to have a great, powerful sound and feel to it. It is from the “Galaxy of the Lost” EP/Single that also includes an acoustic version of “No Surprise” and a version of “Xanadu” (no, really).

Second up is the Shout Out Louds with “December” which is from their “Impossible” EP/Single along with a bunch of remixes. It is a somber, wintry kind of song which fits in well with the current mood of the weather as well as the world we live in. It fits in perfectly with the brilliance of their album “Our Ill Wills“. And finally, just because I already posted one Shout Out Louds b-side I wanted to post this other one even though it was from 2007′s “Tonight I Have To Leave It” single and not from 2008 actually, but who gives a shit, it is about drinking whisky, which is as wintry (and awesome) as a song can get in my book.
